Easy Stress Reduction Technique

I am new to blogging but I have been having great success using EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique to help reduce stress.

Combining some tapping with some gentle slow, long, breathes seems to accelerate the power of each technique greatly!

Just because something looks easy and is very simple, doesn't mean it's not effective.

What makes it effective is the actual doing..

For example, right now, you could get started and try the technique below:

  • sit upright in your chair
  • uncross your legs and put both feet on the ground
  • press your sit bones into the chair
  • press your ears back so that your head is over your shoulders
  • lift the back of your neck up to the sky
  • with your right hand touch your navel. yes i did mean your belly button.
  • make sure that your navel goes in toward your spine as you exhale.
  • make sure that your navel goes out and inflates as you inhale. (many people do this the oppposite way and will need to concentrate to get this correctly!)
  • now, starting at the very top of the head, gently relax your body until you reach your toes.
  • go back to line one and make sure your body is still in alignment even though you are now totally relaxed.
  • recall the event, person or problem that is making you stressed, give it a # from 1-10 (10 being the most stress)
  • In this example, what's stressing me out today was the traffic during the beginning of a snow storm while my phone kept ringing off the hook from work. my # right now is an 8.
  • now, with your right hand, keep tapping on the karate chop point of your left hand (along the fleshy side of the hand near the little finger) " Even though I am stressed out by all the traffic today and the phone ringing like crazy, I choose to wholey & completely love & accept myself" tap there for a bit
  • now tap at the top of the head, saying, "stressed out" (tap approx 7-10 times at each spot)
  • tap at the inside of the right eyebrow, "stressed out" "too much traffic"
  • tap outside corner of eye " too much traffic"
  • under the eye, `phone ringing
  • under the nose, `` phone ringing
  • below the lower lip, `phone ringing
  • at the collarbone, `phone ringing
  • below the armpit `phone ringing
  • at the spleen pt `stressed out
  • take a deep breathe in and exhale out completely (brining the navel in)
  • check your own score and see if it didn`t drop...
repeat as needed as often as needed for as long as needed, substitute whatever words pop into your head to release those tensions.

i use this technique for all kinds of things; i`ve helped people working through parental abuse, childhood issues, pneumonia, weight loss, cravings, all kinds of things with techniques like this.

remember addding the breathwork makes it all more powerful!
